Larry Allen

Larry Allen is an experienced attorney specializing in business law, real estate, and civil litigation at PLG, with plans to expand into municipal law in the future. With a strong background in litigation, municipal finance, and economic development, Larry also brings extensive knowledge in redevelopment and tax increment financing (TIF) districts.

Prior to joining PLG, Larry served as City Attorney for Bloomington, following roles as Assistant City Attorney and Deputy Mayor. Before that, he worked at the Indiana State Attorney General’s Office, where he focused exclusively on appellate work in both criminal and civil appeals. Over the course of his career, he has handled more than 300 appeals, including multiple oral arguments before the Indiana Supreme Court and the Indiana Court of Appeals.

Larry is an active member of the Monroe County Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, and the Indiana State Bar Association. His commitment to public service extends to his role on the board of the Bloomington Public Building Corporation, which oversees the financing of the new Bloomington Convention Center project.

A Bloomington native, Larry was the first in his family to attend college. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Olivet Nazarene University, a Master of Public Affairs with a concentration in public finance and economic development from Indiana University's O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, and a Juris Doctor from Indiana University's Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he received the Norman Lefstein Award for pro bono service for his work with Indiana Legal Services.

Outside of work, Larry and his wife, Jen, enjoy traveling, hiking, and reading.
